TIME MANAGEMENT RATING SCALE

5 – FITS ME PERFECTLY!          4 – FREQUENTLY TRUE FOR ME     3 – SOMETIMES TRUE FOR ME              

2 - NOT USUALLY TRUE FOR ME    1 – RARELY TRUE FOR ME         0 – NEVER! NOT ME AT ALL!

 

PART 1: PLANNING TO SUCCEED

____1.  I MADE AND UPDATE LONG RANGE, WEEKLY, AND DAILY PLANS REGULARLY.

____2.  I HAVE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED, WRITTEN GOALS AND ACTIVITIES AND I USE THEM IN MAKING MY DAILY “TO DO” LIST.

____3.  I HAVE A DAILY TO DO LIST.

____4.  I PRIORITIZE EVERY LIST BEFORE BEGINNING.

____5.  I DO NOT OVERCOMMIT MYSELF. I SET REASONARLE LIMITS FOR MYSELF.

____6.  I PLAN AHEAD TO PREVENT ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS, CONFUSION, OR CRISIS.

____7.  I DO the most important tasks first.

____8.  I use an agenda for meeting and work periods.

 

PART 2: distractions and the robbers

____1.  i use unexpected waiting time to my advantage.

____2.  I concentrate on what I’m doing and resist distractions.

____3.  I finish tasks and projects which I start.

____4.  I make time for scheduled breaks, relaxation, and renewal of my mind.

____5.  I consider my biological peak times when scheduling.

____6.  I minimize socializing and small talk during work time.

____7.  Most of my phone calls are under ten minutes.

 

PART 3:  MASTERING THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

____1.  MY WORK IS ORGANIZED.

____2.  I do not often spend time looking for misplaced items.

____3.  Instead of putting things down, I put them away.

____4.  I handle papers only once after sorting.

____5.  I throw away junk.

____6.  Clock, calendar, plan books and other time saving tools are at hand.

PART 4:  PACING

____1.  I rarely find myself rushing. (Walking, talking, working, eating)

____2.  I have little or no backlog of important work.

____3.  I begin large projects in advance and avoid last minute rushing.

____4.  I break large tasks into their component parts.

____5.  I recognize my own procrastination and resist the temptation.

____6.  I usually make decisions quickly.

____7.  I synchronize my work with others and ask others to synchronize with me.

 

PART 5:  DELEGATION

____1.  I am able to ask others for help.
____2.  I ask others for help and receive it.

____3.  When I delegate, the tasks are usually done on time and correctly.

 

PART 6:  GENERAL

____1.  I know the cost of one hour of my time.

____2.  I know and use the 80/20 rule.

____3.  I frequently ask myself, “what’s the best use of my time right now?”
